FAS 133: The accounting standard of the US Financial Accounting Standards Board that deals with accounting for derivatives. Major provisions of the standard are to require all derivatives to be marked to market, splitting of embedded derivatives, setting stringent conditions to hedge accounting, and setting the accounting treatment for fair value and cashflow hedges.
